The Lab Minute : Carmelo Quarta [June 4, 2026]

 Summary

I consider Europe my home.

I consider myself an European citizen and I chose Europe because here we can get exposed to terrific science from many different countries and we really have access to very nice funding like the ERC Consolidator Grant that  had the luck to recently get.

Carmelo Quarta, chercheur Inserm au Neurocentre Magendie à Bordeaux, est ainsi un chercheur européen lauréat d’une bourse Consolidator de l'European Research Council (ERC) pour son projet Ghostbuster en 2023.

Avec ce projet, il cherche à reprogrammer la fonction des neurones "fantômes" pour aider les personnes atteintes d'obésité à perdre du poids et à améliorer leur métabolisme à long terme.
